Jade bangles have been worn on the wrist for generations, usually solid, heavy, and singular. This pendant borrows that same open circle but scales it down and lightens it, turning a piece meant to be felt on the arm into one meant to be seen at the neckline.
In Chinese, the magnolia — yù lán (玉兰) — carries the same character for jade (yù, 玉) in its own name. Placing a small sterling silver magnolia directly above the jade circle isn't a random pairing of flower and stone; it's a quiet, literal echo, the same word sitting twice in one small pendant.
Rooted in Tradition
The Jade Necklace opens the Jade Collection, drawn directly from traditional Chinese jade bangles and the meaning they've carried for generations — protection, luck, and a piece passed down rather than simply bought. Getting the circular pendant to feel proportionate at necklace scale, and pairing it correctly with the magnolia detail above it, took 9 rounds of sample modification, part of the $7,000 and 180+ hours invested into building the Jade Collection from the ground up.
